National Bloc: We Demand Salameh's Resignation in Case of Accusation or Failure to appear

The National Bloc released the following statement:

Should formal charges be leveled against the Governor of the "Banque du Liban", Riad Salameh, or an arrest warrant be issued against him if he fails to attend the investigation session before the French judiciary on May 16, we demand his immediate resignation to limit the disastrous impact of this event on Lebanon's financial reputation. The "Currency and Credit Law" should then be referred to until a new governor is appointed.

More importantly, the responsibility for re-establishing the executive authority lies with the Parliament, specifically its Speaker, starting with the election of a President of the Republic, which allows the appointment of a new governor and the return of order to the state's institutions.
