The National Bloc: We Welcome the Army's Control Over Palestinian Militia Positions

The National Bloc welcomes the Lebanese Army's entry into the positions of Palestinian militias outside the camps and the extension of State authority over them.

The incoming president and his government should build on this step to initiate a clear process with a specific timeline to ensure that all weapons in Lebanon are controlled by the State and its security and military forces.

Handing in the weapons of Hezbollah and Palestinian factions, whether inside or outside their camps, to the Lebanese Army is the only way to protect Lebanon and its citizens. It is the essential step toward regularizing political life, implementing the constitution, the Taif Agreement, and international resolutions.
