The National Bloc: No to Isolating Lebanon from Its Surroundings

The National Bloc released the following statement:

The threat made by Hezbollah's Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah to the Cypriot government is a continuation of the policy aimed at isolating Lebanon from its surroundings and bringing about more problems with Cyprus and the European Union that we do not need.

At a time when Lebanon needs all its historically friendly countries to help it out of the predicament of this war that destroyed the South and displaced its people, and to assist in its reconstruction and in the compensation for its citizens, it seems that the axis of “resistance” will not rest until it has completely turned our country into a second North Korea, and cut it off entirely from the rest of the world.

The National Bloc, while condemning Hezbollah's threats to the Cypriot state and previously to the Arab states, calls on Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati and Foreign Minister Abdallah Bouhabib to take minimal measures to save face and address the Cypriot authorities to clarify Lebanon's official and popular stance rejecting these threats, which have no relation to the interests of the Lebanese state.
