The National Bloc: Has the Time for Justice Not Yet Come?

The National Bloc views with deep concern the continued deadlock in the investigation into the Beirut Port explosion, particularly under the current government, which pledged to uphold justice in this national case.

While we continue to place great hope in the government’s commitment to enforce the law firmly and equally on all, we expect clear and decisive measures to remove every form of political protection from any suspect and to guarantee the judiciary’s full independence so it can complete its work through to the issuance and enforcement of final judgments.

On the sixth anniversary of the Beirut Port explosion, we renew our tribute to the victims and their families, express our solidarity with the injured, and reaffirm that justice is a right the Lebanese people are owed by their state. It can no longer be postponed.

If justice does not come under this presidency and this government, then when will it come?
