National Bloc: In the passing of Cardinal Sfeir, Lebanon has lost a national icon that stood for the country’s sovereignty

The Lebanese National Bloc Party extends its deepest condolences to the Lebanese people, and especially to the Maronite Church on the loss of the Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Mar Nasrallah Boutros Sfeir, who died Sunday morning.

The National Bloc said in a statement that Lebanon has lost a national icon with the passing of Cardinal Sfeir, a man who stood for the country’s sovereignty and for the dignity and coexistence of its citizens

Recalling the role of the late Patriarch in the reconciliation after the “Mountain war” the National Bloc reiterated that its vision in terms of rebuilding the country is based on true national reconciliation and citizenship consolidation.
