The National Bloc: Saving Nabatieh, Tyre, and All of Lebanon

The National Bloc is closely and gravely following the rapidly escalating Israeli campaign in southern Lebanon, particularly in the cities of Nabatieh and Tyre, and the threats it poses to civilians as well as to a number of Lebanese archaeological and heritage sites.

The Bloc also condemns the Israeli attacks across wide areas of the South, which constitute a blatant violation of international humanitarian law, as well as the resulting new wave of displacement and forced migration.

We call on the Lebanese state to respond positively to the calls from Nabatieh and Tyre, and to act without delay to protect both cities and their architectural and cultural heritage, by immediately asserting its sovereignty over them and over all Lebanese territory, in parallel with ongoing diplomatic efforts.
