National Bloc: We Will Not Yield to Intimidation

The National Bloc condemns the systematic campaign targeting its candidate in Keserwan, Dr. Josephine Zgheib, following her expression of a legitimate political opinion on the Municipality of Maaysra inviting the Iranian ambassador to Lebanon.

The threats, defamation, and abuse we have witnessed go beyond the bounds of political debate and constitute a blatant violation of the freedom of opinion and expression guaranteed by the Lebanese Constitution.

Accordingly, the National Bloc calls on the Lebanese authorities to take immediate action to prevent any targeting of Dr. Zgheib and to curb any inflammatory rhetoric that threatens her safety.
