The National Bloc issued the following statement:
The National Bloc expresses its astonishment at the decision of the Military Court to release armed members affiliated with Hezbollah in exchange for a minimal financial bail.
This decision considers a blow to the authority of the state and to the decisions of the Council of Ministers, especially since this banned militia has threatened, and continues to threaten, the national security of the state and exposes the safety of the country and its citizens to various dangers.
This decision further strengthens our conviction that it is necessary to immediately begin cleansing and reforming the public administration and liberating it from the grip of the mafia and the militia that infiltrated it during previous eras. It also reminds us of the need to abolish all exceptional courts, foremost among them the Military Court, whose rulings are no longer trusted by the Lebanese people.
At a time when the country is going through an extremely delicate and difficult phase, the National Bloc calls on all Lebanese, as well as all state institutions, to work together in harmony and unite behind the logic of the state and around its decisions, in the face of all groups operating outside the law that are attempting to undermine and bring down the state in service of external interests that have no connection to Lebanon.
