National Bloc: Implementation Is What Matters
The National Bloc issued the following statement:
The Lebanese National Bloc considers that any position regarding today’s Cabinet decision is contingent upon the ability to enforce its implementation and to avoid resorting to dilution or procrastination.
It believes that the seriousness required from the government, both domestically and internationally, particularly at this critical juncture, demands the immediate initiation of the disarmament of Hezbollah across all Lebanese territory and by all necessary and lawful means, as well as the complete dismantling of its security apparatus.
Most importantly, it calls for the arrest and prosecution of those within the party responsible for the decision to drag Lebanon into war, as well as for all other crimes committed against the Lebanese people.
Otherwise, this decision will amount to mere rhetorical statements, added to a long list of similar resolutions that Hezbollah has openly refused to abide by, thereby exposing, and continuing to expose, the lives of the Lebanese people to danger.
