The National Bloc issued the following statement:
The National Bloc strongly condemns Hezbollah’s dragging of Lebanon into the regional war on behalf of its masters in Tehran, which once again proves its disregard for Lebanon, the interests of its people, and the decisions of the government. It holds Hezbollah equally responsible with Israel for the blood of the Lebanese who fell today.
It also holds the Lebanese authorities historically responsible for their continued failure, for more than a year, to disarm Hezbollah’s militia. We have long warned of the consequences of procrastination on this matter and of evading national responsibility under flimsy pretexts.
We call on them to replace statements of condemnation and warning with bold decisions, foremost among them dissolving Hezbollah and declaring it an armed group outside the law, arresting its leaders as they constitute a threat to national security, the Lebanese state, and the supreme national interest, as well as summoning the Iranian ambassador and taking the necessary measures against him.
