The National Bloc released the following statement:
A delegation from the National Bloc visited the Army Commander, General Joseph Aoun, at his office in Yarzeh to offer condolences for the martyrs who fell in the south as a result of Israeli attacks and to express full solidarity with the legitimate military institution in the face of Israeli aggression and the internal incitement campaigns targeting it.
During the meeting, the delegation emphasized the critical role of the Lebanese Army in the upcoming phase and the necessity of reinforcing its presence in the south and along all borders and international ports. This is essential to fully establish the State's sovereignty, which alone, through its legitimate institutions, can protect the Lebanese people from Israeli aggression.
The discussion also addressed the importance of shielding the army from political conflicts and personal agendas, as well as the necessity of avoiding any leadership vacuum to preserve the stability of the military and the country during this very sensitive political moment in Lebanon's history.
The delegation included Secretary-General Michel Helou and members of the Executive Committee: Lynn Harfoush, Camille Mourani, and Hussein Al Ashi.
