The National Bloc Condemns Israeli Attack on Beirut's Southern Suburbs: Calls for Immediate Ceasefire in Lebanon

The intensity of the conflict is rapidly escalating following the Israeli attack on Beirut's southern suburbs, as well as the earlier rocket strike that hit a football field in Majdal Shams, located in the occupied Golan Heights.

The National Bloc strongly condemns the Israeli attack on Beirut, which has claimed the lives of several civilians and left dozens injured. We equally condemn the killing of children in the Golan and elsewhere, and we extend our heartfelt condolences to their families in Beirut and Majdal Shams.

We urge all relevant stakeholders to apply the utmost pressure on all sides to agree to an immediate ceasefire in Lebanon—irrespective of developments in Gaza. We also call for the enforcement of UN Resolution 1701 and the re-implementation of the 1949 armistice agreement, as these measures can help prevent the country from descending into further military escalation.
