Parties in power to blame for yesterday’s expressions of anger by protestors

The Lebanese National Bloc Party commented on yesterday’s events in Hamra Street and in front of the nation’s central bank, by noting that most of the true rebels left the scene at the onset of the attacks on bank buildings and exchange offices, leaving a minimal presence of supporters of the parties in power and riotous demonstrators.

In a statement, the Bloc stressed that it denounced both the goals and forms of the actions of government supporters and riotous demonstrators; these actions are aimed at taking advantage of the gains of the legitimate revolution and to exploit these abuses in order to suppress the movement.

That being said, the Bloc stated that these actions cannot be denounced completely due to the amount of pressure the Lebanese citizens are under.  It also stressed that yesterday’s acts of angry expression are a direct reaction to, and the responsibility of the ruling class.
