The National Bloc issued the following statement:
A delegation from the Executive Committee of the National Bloc visited the President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, at the Baabda Palace, where they expressed their full support for the implementation of the inaugural address, particularly the restoration of full state sovereignty, through resolving the issue of Hezbollah’s weapons and liberating the territories occupied by Israel during the recent war. The delegation also stressed the need for the required financial and economic reforms, as well as the reconstruction of what has been destroyed.
The meeting also included a discussion on the importance of ensuring judicial independence and holding perpetrators accountable. On the issue of expatriate voting, there was full agreement on the need to uphold the right of Lebanese abroad to vote in their original electoral districts like all other citizens, rather than limiting them to six parliamentary seats.
The delegation included Secretary General Michel Helou, Head of Political Relations Camille Mourani, Lynn Harfoush, Hussein El Achi, Lea Ghanem, and Paul Saber.
